I was blown away by the direction Maas took Nesta's story. There were many times that Nesta's words, thoughts, and actions I'm not sure that I have the words to describe what this book, this story, meant to me. What the world of Prythian means to me.
I was blown away by the direction Maas took Nesta's story. There were many times that Nesta's words, thoughts, and actions, rang true for me throughout the book. I wept at some parts, cheered at others. Maas has shown once again that her true strength is capturing the complicated, raw reality of healing from trauma. She did this so well with Feyre in ACOTAR and even better with Nesta here.
Gwyn and Emerie are some of my favorite characters in the series, and I thought nothing could compare to my love for the Inner Circle.
I will think of this story and Nesta's journey long after I finish this review. I will remind myself to choose love, choose friendship, choose to fight and be strong. Remind myself that I am worthy of love. That I can climb my own mountains.
Thank you, Sarah J Maas, for this book.

EDIT:
Now that I've slept on it and the initial emotion has settled a bit, I can add a few more details to my review.
First of all, the spice level in this book was significantly above any of Maas' other novels, including Crescent City. I can completely see why this was moved to the adult section!
Second, my only complaint about this story was that Rhysand didn't act like himself the entire time. Thankfully he wasn't in it too much, so it was easy to not dwell on it, but his actions in this story don't really match up with the Rhys we know and love from the original trilogy. I have a hard time believing that (view spoiler) I can't believe I'm saying this but it would have been better if Feysand were in this book even less than they already are.
Aside from that, my original sentiments stand. I loved Nesta's journey and the rebirth of the Valkyrie so so so much. ...more "
