"I've abandoned Mardi once again. Made it a little further this time, up to the point where he reached Mardi and embarked with some of the locals to look for his missing beloved. The book has veered off into the self-indulgent. It's not that it's an arduous slog like Moby Dick can sometimes be, it's that it's an arduous slog with no great redeeming value." — Dec 05, 2024 07:44PM
