The Widow

get two hundred thousand bucks up front for a murder case, not a penny less.”
I liked The Widow a lot. John Grisham is an extremely smart guy and a talented writer. This one deserves at least 4 stars, but it is also a bit of an indirect advertisement for his recent nonfiction book about the innocence project. In The Widow, an innocent man is convicted and comes very close to an undeserved sentence.
You know what my very favorite John Grisham book of all time is? It's "A Time To Kill" ... yeah, his debut novel ... the one that didn't sell. But in my opinion that was his best writing ever, closely followed by the several other books that feature Jake Brigance as the lawyer at the center of the story.
