"Amelia B. Edwards' 'The Phantom Coach' - The story changes gears from loneliness & isolation to the supernatural & believing what experiments cannot prove, thus James Murray being the 4th passenger. But I suffer from the same fatal flaw of wanting proof. If she could have said something more about the 4th passenger, I would have believed his claims more easily. But I assume that is not the point of the story, right?" — 23 hours, 3 min ago

"Nora Ephron's sense of humour and Meryl Streep's narration makes this book the ideal audiobook about "heartburn" or so it seems after a couple of hours in!
💔+😝=❤️🩹
It is scary how much I relate with lovely but late Nora." — Jan 02, 2026 06:25PM

to find a better place?
a home?
But the loneliness will always capture me
in its claws
of no tomorrow”

“For the want of a nail the shoe was lost,
For the want of a shoe the horse was lost,
For the want of a horse the rider was lost,
For the want of a rider the battle was lost,
For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.”

“Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn't matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough.”

“Sometimes in tragedy we find out life's purpose.....
The eye sheds a tear to find its focus”

“Once in Hawaii I was taken to see a Buddhist temple. In the temple a man said, "I am going to tell you something that you will never forget." And then he said, "To every man is given the key to the gates of heaven. The same key opens the gates of hell.”
