The family plus some extras need to learn how to survive in the wild and fend for themselves and each other in times of need. The Robinson family consists of Ernest, Fritz, Franz, the mother, the father, and Jack. In this book they build a lot of new things for their new lifestyle and grow closer and closer together as friends and as family.
The reason I chose this book is because my mother recommended this book to me because it shows a lot of things about human nature and has a very good plot. After reading the teaser and the back cover of the book, it looked quite interesting and entertaining and it turned out to be true.
Almost all of the characters are interesting in this book, in their own special ways, but the father and Ernest really stood out to me because of their knowledge of the environment and of building different structures and machinery. The father knows a lot about animals also, such as how to tame them and harvest them for the resources they can and will give. Ernest is like a book in himself, recognizing plants by their scientific name and being able to recognize animals like a zoologist. The father and Ernest play a very big role in the protection of the group because they know of poisonous plants and animals that can kill you or envenom you with deadly toxins.
Well my favorite aspect of the book so far is just the diversity in what they do daily, they build boats, tend to the animals fish, and stuff like that so the book never gets boring. My favorite part of the book is that everyone kind of pitches in to help each other out and build things for each other that may be a necessity. My least favorite part of the book so far is that they moved house structures after all of their work even though it may seem more practical to live in the new structure.
Even though I am not finished with the book, this is one of the best books I have ever read by far. Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading. ...more "
