"The end of the book is very sad. The author didn't come right out and say what had happened to Bruno and Shmuel. I believe that the author wrote this book to remember the awful things that happened during the Holocaust. He wants us to know what it was like from a boy's point of view that didn't understand what was happening in his life. It is also to tell the readers of a great friendship between 2 boys back then." — May 16, 2015 09:15AM
