"I think this story is setting-driven because of the great impact the time period/place has on the story & characters. The novel is set in an Arabian.. World? Country? I'm not sure, but it seems to be Arabian with a Wild West feel to it. The area is swamped with magical creatures and places that highly influence the characters, such as strange beings warring with our heroine. She also travels throughout the towns," — Mar 21, 2016 02:35PM

"I chose to read this book because the cover was gorgeous and the summary sounded very interesting. I was also excited to read a book with a mix of short stories including straight, gay, and pan/bisexual female characters. Since every story was from a different time period and all had different genres, themes, and characters, I figured the variety would be interesting and refreshing." — Apr 25, 2016 02:20PM

"Doran is a dynamic character because while he begins in the novel as a self-absorbed, rich prick he is grounded by the love for his crew (especially Solara) and a new appreciation for the working class. In the end of the book he is more compassionate and less self absorbed." — Mar 07, 2016 02:24PM
