In this book, a child named David is abused by his alcoholic mother and “brothers”. The book starts of with David being inspected by the school nurse after the many years that his mother had abused him. The book starts of with David being inspected by the school nurse after the many years that his mother had abused him. As the book continues it shows David's life before getting abused. His mother was loving and caring and very clean. But as he grew older, his mother started drinking more and started taking her feelings out on her son. Eventually he becomes the family slave and gets punished at the littlest thing. One of the worst punishments is when his mother locks him in the bathroom with chemicals so it was hard for him to see or breath with nothing to protect himself with. Though some parts of this book were gruesome and just plain cruel, I found this book too good to put down. This book is good for people who enjoy non-fiction....more
