The book I am reading is Hate List by Jennifer Brown. In September of Valeria's Left Men's senior year of high school she is left with the pain of her past in which her boyfriend Nick opened fire in her school cafeteria killing a number of students. Valeria was able to stop Nick from killing another student in which she got shot in the process. She was knocked out from all the blood when soon after Nick committed suicide. She soon realized all the signs he had given to her but still blames herself because both of them created a "hate list" where they listed people and things that they hated and certain things that happened to them through their High School years. She felt guilty and she was scared to go back to her school but soon she found a new friend someone who she had saved the life of. I really like this book because instead of the book being sad and only talking about the deaths that happened it continues on with what Valeria is going to do. Jennifer Brown used a very interesting and creative perspective that alternates from person to person and time to time. This is a very interesting and good book it makes you wonder everything that is going on but it is easy to follow. I also like this book because I am in Highschool and I feel like it makes me more aware of what could happen and if it did the perspective of different people. I really like books that I can relate to and the different kinds of books that involve High School students and their different settings. I recommend this book for High School students and older. It can be more relatable for those students, more interesting, and gives you an idea of what you can do if this situation ever happens to your friends or at this school. Reasons why I did not enjoy the book was they took a long time to get to the point and it was a large wait, throughout the entire book there was only the one exciting event that happened and I think they needed more, and lastly they did not give a lot of background about Valeria that some people could be interested in and throughout reading the book I felt like I did not know her. ...more "
