"The minute I started paging through this ginormous coffee table book it became immediately apparent that there was no way I would finish it in one, two or even 20 sittings. So I started off methodically just looking through the pages and pictures to get a sense of what would grab my attention (aesthetically). The hope now of course is that this will determine where I start reading. I haven't moved passed page 98." Jul 27, 2015 12:53PM

John Green
“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“The world is not a wish-granting factory.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

Hanya Yanagihara
“You won’t understand what I mean now, but someday you will: the only trick of friendship, I think, is to find people who are better than you are—not smarter, not cooler, but kinder, and more generous, and more forgiving—and then to appreciate them for what they can teach you, and to try to listen to them when they tell you something about yourself, no matter how bad—or good—it might be, and to trust them, which is the hardest thing of all. But the best, as well.”
Hanya Yanagihara, A Little Life

Oscar Wilde
“Really, if the lower orders don’t set us a good example, what on earth is the use of them?  They seem, as a class, to have absolutely no sense of moral responsibility.”
Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest

LeVar Burton
“For me, literacy means freedom. For the individual and for society.”
LeVar Burton
