Reformed theology... .... is always being Reformed by the Holy Spirit according to the word of God. Not only our doctrine but our worship and life must be determined by Scripture and not by human whim, creativity or the spirit of the age.
“The Bible defines marriage as a reflection of Christ and His Bride—a mystery that points to the sacrificial relationship between Jesus and the Church (Eph. 5). It is to be between one man and one woman. We are going to stand firm on that truth, because logically, if you redefine marriage, you begin to redefine the gospel.”

“Maybe God has placed within us the awareness of our mortality to prompt us to cast ourselves upon the ever-living God. The Heidelberg Catechism of 1563 begins with the question, What is your only comfort in life and death? The answer, so beautifully put, is:
That I with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who, with his precious blood, has fully paid for all my sins, and delivered me from the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that everything must fit his purpose for my salvation.”

“The Scriptures explicitly distinguish between the two calls. Of the subjects of the one it is said, "Many are called, but few are chosen." Matt. xxii. 14. Of the subjects of the other it is said, "Whom he called, them he also justified." Rom. viii. 30. Comp. Prov. i. 24, and John vi. 45.”

“the power of evil is both great and universal, is an ever present blight on life in all its manifestations, and is a matter of daily experience in the life of every man.”
