Globally, we are out of touch with reality for a variety of reasons. We exist with a personal database consisting of historical knowledge and information being garnered through an overly dramatic or otherwise biased news distribution methodology. Indeed, our own cognitive biases often force us to seek those sources most in line with what we already believe, true or not.
