I read the book The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. This book is about Ira Levinson (91 year-old) who has just gotten into a car crash and. As he is sitting in the car for a few hours he starts get a blurry vision his wife Ruth who died nine years ago. She urges him to hang on to life by telling him stories about their marriage and relationship together. Four months before this a few miles away Sophia Danko a senior at Wake forest college is getting forced into going to a rodeo by her friend Marica to get her off brian her ex-boyfriend who has cheated on her not just one time but three times. when Marica finally gets her to say yes they leave. Riding in the rodeo is bull rider Luke Collins. After the rodeo Sophia notices Brian and she goes outside he follows her and when she notices he is drunk they get into this big argument and he grabs her arm and she screams and when she hears a voice behind her saying to let her go she gets even more scared when he gets him off and lets the boy out from under his boot she notices it is Luke a rider in the bull riding competition. They talk for hours about their lives and how different they are. Sophia invites herself to his ranch which seems to be a first date. Sophia even supports Luke in bull riding but when she finds out he has been in a terrible accident she gives him an ultimatum of her or bull riding. When Luke learns that if he quits he will lose the ranch which will he choice. While Ira is still in the car he starts to let go that is when his wife shows up again will Ira choice to die or live.

My favorite part in the book is when Luke and Sophia first meet. I liked how her ex was there because it gave a feeling that something was about to happen. After he grabbed her arm and Luke came it got interesting. When Luke got Brain (the ex) off Sophia and then Brian went after Luke and and with Luke being short and brian being the captain of the lacrosse sophia didn’t think it would end well. Then to her surprise he got him to the ground and Brian’s neck was under Luke’s boot. After he was gone i liked how then went and just talked for hours about themselves and their lives.

I would recommend this book to anyone you likes romance and believes in fate. This is because this book has a lot to do with fate happenings. For example when Ira and ruth first met Ira explained it as fate. There is a lot of romance that happens in this book. For example when luke and Sophia go Luke’s ranch it is a first date and a little romantic. I would also say to read this book you should be at least 11 with all that happens it it. ...more "
