"I love Grady Hendrix. I've at least enjoyed all of his books, really loved a few. But this is one of the worst editing jobs I've ever read in a professionally published book. I am not gifted at picking up continuity errors. So the amount of continuity errors and contradictions and small plot holes I'm catching in this book is pretty irritating and immensely distracting. Also it's his worst job writing women so far." Nov 20, 2025 07:30PM

Stephen King
“I believe the one thing the God of this world likes best is to give the business to people who say 'never.”
Stephen King, Firestarter

Michelle McNamara
“What is the lasting damage when you believe the warm spot you were just sleeping in will be your grave? Time sands the edges of the injuries, but they never lose their hold.”
Michelle McNamara, I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer

C.S. Lewis
“A pipe gives a wise man time to think and a fool something to stick in his mouth.”
C.S. Lewis

Stephen King
“Bright morning sunlight fell aslant through the window, out of a sky that was a deep and blameless autumn blue. Things seemed so much better in the good daylight.”
Stephen King

“Sky looked from one witch to the other. He looked at Dante, the man with the legs broken in war; Jack, who had one eye and a wound in his head; Stark, who would limp the rest of his life; Blaine, the police officer who helped end Manson. Crow and Olive's two kids with a Wiznit friend and powers still unexplored. A small glowing fairy with pink eyes holding Jack's hand. Who was this group but the front line of the King. The people who bore the weight of this world. Its sufferings and its hope, unknown, unthanked, often broken”
Abby Jones, Hero's Story
