You must know what the passage says before you can understand what it means and how it applies to you and your ministry. You should:   Read to determine, “What does this passage say to me?” Begin by reading the passage to determine what the Scripture is all about.   Record what you see. It is extremely important that you write some notes and keep a record of your insights and questions.   Mark unfamiliar words or phrases that you do not understand; and write your answers in your journal or study notes.”
