“Time and again, I have stated what needs to be done to get this country back on its feet,” Alice Weidel continues before parliament. If any Holocaust survivors are still there, perhaps they look away, too pained by the renovation of Nazism

Kendi spends a lot of time in the book discussing far right movements elsewhere (non-US); certainly the AfD are an execrable bunch, and you don't know pain until you've had to listen to them speak in their native tongue, especially Weidel. And yes, a larger portion of the 2015 Syrian and other immigrants have found work in Germany, more than generally believed backed up by statistics. Yet what he doesn't know or pretends to completely ignore is that they are not well integrated and nearly every German has an example of that especially with respect to Burgergeld abuses and other anecdotes. However, Kendi has proven time and again to be incapable of dealing in nuance and goes from 1 to 100 on every issue with little room for reality. That's what makes him and his latest such a flawed piece of writing. His podcast appearance with Yascha Mounk was typical - completely on the backfoot the whole time with a hostility toward any of his ideas taken as sacrilege.
