“Create a Thumbs-Up Award. Work with your son to come up with a list of nice things to do for others. Take a three-by-five card and write: “Thumbs up for demonstrating awareness of others.” Add a line for your signature and the date. When you see him demonstrating the behaviors on the list he has helped create, fill out a Thumbs-Up card. When he has five Thumbs-Up cards, take him out for a treat.”
