* Well written characters. I got to understand their reasons, their motivations. LIla's reason to not give in Aleksey's advances were believable. A girl who has been hurt by men the way she was wouldn't trust a man like Aleksey just because he's hot. She had her priorities clear. With her it was her way or nothing at all because as strong she is, it becomes evident that she needed a sense of safety and Aleksey's strange, kinky ways didn't help. I adore Aleksey and I thought he should have opened more, but he really tried and he ended up earning Lila's trust. I got the impression that he fell in love with Lila immediatly but for a while it seemed like he had a secret agenda. This conflict between the motivations of the two of them was supercompelling and extremely extremely romantic.

Rey's reasons to push Lila away were pretty much understandable even if I thought at times he should've loosen it up a little. And Azzy didn't act like a little girl but like an Adult but I could see why she was so mature for her age.

* No surgarcoating - Rape is horrible. People seem to understand that but at the same time they tend to think it's not big deal. The book didn't sugarcoat it and presented it in a realistic way.

* 100% unpredictable. It was refreshing to read a story where I didn't know where things would end. It was a twist after another.

* Plenty of funny stuff!!! Aleksey and Lila's conversations, her attempts to lose her V and Azzy's inteventations were a good source of laughs
Bad things
I needed more of Alkesey. He was a great love interest and even if this is Lila's story I wish there had been a little more of his perspective. I understand why things have to be like this but I demand a book focused on his story. When he finally reveals a little bit of his past the book gained a whole new level for me.

The cruelty of the world. That's not the authors fault, because it's a realistic setting but it wasn't an easy, fluffy reading. It was as entertaining as emotional and heart-crushing. I ended up content with the ending but the author really make her characters (and me!) suffer to get there.

I wouldn't ever recommend this book to readers under 18 because it's a dark sexual reading. But anyone over 18 should give this book a try. It was intense and fantastic! ...more "
