It is narrowly known that Jews do not dress in traditional American black for funerals,
Not true, at least in my experience. It’s perfectly normal; my family and I have always worn black or other dark colors to funerals. When I was younger, it was black and only black. As I’ve aged, though, I’ve found it less important and have worn navy, dark brown, and burgundy to funerals and unveilings.
