" okay i have a lot of things to say. first of all, this book didn't get interesting until page 200 which was 62% into it. I would've given this book 3 stars if it weren't for the ending because I was not expecting any of that at all. when i was about 100 pages in, i took a peak at the discussion questions at the end of the book and i saw that cardan betrayed jude, but i was not expecting him to marry her and then exile her to the mortal realm. the last 60 pages of the book my heart was racing because i was thinking "oh my god what's he gonna do and when is he gonna do it?" in the description of the book it says something about how someone jude trusts is going to betray her and my first thought was "okay well i know it's not cardan because she doesn't trust him." girl.......i was also not expecting taryn to betray her like that, she sucks. omg speaking of taryn i literally hate locke so much. when i read the first book in this series for the first time at the end of 2019 i had a lot of things to say but i was on vacation so i didn't want to write a big long thing. but since i just reread it my hatred for locke is fresh in my mind. why would taryn even marry him when one of his conditions was that she just had to stand by while he and jude had a relationship. everytime locke comes onto the page i want to reach into the book and beat the shit out of him, but luckily jude does that anyway (not really, but she did threaten him so that he would be loyal to taryn). wow she is such a good sister to taryn and taryn sucks so much and is so rude and i can't believe that she betrayed jude like that, and for what? some dick? gross.. also: i went into this series knowing that cardan and jude had an enemies to lovers love story, but i do not understand at all why jude likes him. she is obviously physically attracted to him, but the whole first book she felt nothing but hatred and annoyance toward him, until she found out that he liked her and then they kissed. and then in this book her thoughts toward him are the same except that she's physically attracted to him. she shows no signs of actually liking him romantically so i am very confused. ...more "
