Evelyn Montgomery has woven an incredibly raw and emotionally layered story around grief, gaslighting, depression, abuse, and the quiet devastation that can come from believing the lies we are told about ourselves for far too long. But beneath all of that pain is something even more powerful: the idea that sometimes we need another person to help us remember who we were before the world convinced us we weren't enough.

This story gives voice to so many of the feelings we carry but rarely say out loud. The inadequacy we can feel as a person. As a parent. As a spouse. As a partner. The moments when we question whether we are lovable, worthy, capable, or enough. And honestly, some of this was hard to read because we don't always want stories that expose our flaws so plainly. It's uncomfortable to recognize pieces of ourselves in the hurt, the fear, the self doubt, and the ways these characters struggle to see their own worth.

About finding the courage to fight through the pain, the lies, the voices that tell you that you aren't enough, and the wounds that make you question whether you deserve something better. It's about learning to love yourself enough to fight for yourself. And, just as importantly, learning that strength and power belong to both people in a relationship. Healing doesn't have to mean becoming who you were before. Sometimes it means becoming someone stronger because you finally understand your own worth.

Savannah Thomas and Jason Clarke bring an incredible emotional depth to Rose and Justin. Their performances made the pain feel intimate and the tenderness feel earned, giving the story another layer of vulnerability that stayed with me long after I finished listening.

Resurrection isn't an easy story. It isn't supposed to be. It asks you to look at the ugly parts of grief, trauma, self-doubt, and love. But it also reminds us that broken does not mean beyond repair. ...more "
