It is a very interesting book that makes you want to keep on reading. I chose this book because I found the cover very legit because of the way the Coney Island Denominators looked. I kind of skimmed through it and saw that it was about gangs and street fights which caught my attention. This book is very twisted (in a good way) because it has a bit of everything. This is a story about a gang, the Coney Island Denominators trying to go back home from a gang convention that was held at the Bronx. It is very interesting because they have so many protagonists it gets good. On their way back home they run away and fight off from cops, rival gangs and even prostitutes that are making them get caught up. There are 7 gang members of them going back home to their turf. The leader of their gang gets held back and nobody knows what happens to them so they go home as soon as possible. On their way back they meet up with the Boricua Blazers which the Denominators make them look like chickens. After they finish with them they go to a train station and meet up with another rival gang which they also beat and finally, cops. Only one out of the 6 gets booked and now we have 5 that make it home. The writing style of the author Sol Yurick in this book is ghetto because most of all the words are slang. It was a bit difficult to understand the words at first but throughout the adventure I actually did picture what was going on. I really liked this book and thought it was pretty cool on the way it made the gangs sound as if they were real. I would recommend this book to anybody that is into having a night with a hardcore gang to Coney Island....more
