In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Jean Louise rather known as Scout Finch in the narrator. I believe that the author made Scout the author on account of it make the story a lot mo 12/5/10

In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Jean Louise rather known as Scout Finch in the narrator. I believe that the author made Scout the author on account of it make the story a lot more interesting when told from the prospective of the youngest character observing others and dealing with all of the issues that are relevant in the novel at the beginning of the story. What I found confusing in the beginning of he novel was who was telling the story and the gender of the narrator. I first realized that Scout was a girl when Scout mentions her brother Jem "having his little sister to think of." (15) I don't know if that is the first time Scouts gender is mentioned but at least for me that is the first time that I realized it.

One theme that keeps coming up is the strong relationship between Jem and Scout and the way that they are constantly relying on each other and are always getting themselves into some sort of mischief. Such as sneaking onto the Radleys yard and almost getting themselves shot. I also sense a strong community and neighborhood in which the Finches live in. The two most important characters thus far are Jem and Scout and I have a feeling that they will be the main characters throughout the entire novel.

Checkpoint 2:
The story to Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is set up in a very careful way. Lee wants the reader to question all of the different symbols and themes while reading the book but after finishing it have the themes and such make complete sense. Lee forces the reader to think especially about the symbol of the mockingbird in the book and how "the mockingbird has several symbols such as how the mockingbird can be forshadowed as the sins of the immoral towns people" altman. Even though i am done the novel i think that this book will go down as a classic for many more years to come on account of the careful symbols and the intricate characters.

One theme that is very prelivant throughout the entire novel is the christian themes throughout the book and how atticus one of the main characters tries to raise his kids and eventually the community with his christian vlues and beleifs ...more "
