"can't sleep -
The good so far- worldbuilding. The gods are so intensely personal. The theme of Yeine being mixed race. Jemisin's direct writing.
The bad- this book takes way too long to get rolling. Yeine comes to the palace with no expectations & no plan. Every amount of a vessel the gods make her to be. Wish she had more agency or the book focused on her grieving her mother rather her wandering for half the novel" — Oct 04, 2025 01:59AM
