6/13/22 Update: Re-read number four complete. Now what to do with my life? Much like I said in my review of Six of Crows my love for this series only grows with each re-read. Between the action-packed plot, immaculate worldbuilding (is it too much to ask to wish to explore Ketterdam?), various heists and schemes, and incredible found family aspect between the characters, this book and this series in general are everything to me. This book is such an incredible rollercoaster of emotions (Chapter 40 will forever ruin me and I honestly cannot read this chapter without tearing up a little) and I could not help but laugh and cry alongside our cast of characters as the story progressed. Speaking of characters, these characters will forever own my heart. I mean, Wylan has become my favorite book character ever with Jesper right behind him (I'm also a huge Wesper shipper if that was not obvious before), not to mention my infinite love for Kaz, Inej, Nina, and Matthias as well. Anyway, all of the characters are so complex and dynamic and their character growth and development over the course of the duology is insane. Likewise, I adore the various friendships and relationships between the characters, especially their banter with each other, but also the various ups and downs and moments of sheer vulnerability shared between them. Now is it weird that I want to re-read this series again? I'm asking for science. ...more "
