" Premise: Second book in the series which continues Owen and Declan’s relationship. Owen moves in with Declan to take care of him and their relationship starts having issues which they need to resolve.

What I liked about it:

What I liked about it:
+ How the other kids would call Summer out when she was only thinking about herself and not liking it when Owen didn’t tell her everything.
+ How the kids aren’t scared of Declan and would give him the talk about hurting Owen.

What I didn’t like about it:
- Their relationship didn’t seem to have changed since the first book. I didn’t enjoy their relationship and found it unconvincing in the first book and it’s still the same in their book.
- The dialogue involving punishment and sex that would pop up regularly is just weird to me. It’s like they couldn’t have a regular conversation without mentioning their dynamic, even though it was inappropriate to bring it up. And they would bring up sex often. I wished the book talked more about their emotions rather than their sex life. I didn’t like how Declan would use his “authority” on Owen in the most inappropriate of times. For example, there was a scene where they were talking and Owen tried to say something and Declan interrupted him and said he didn’t give Owen the permission to speak. It just feels so weird and disrespectful.
- I didn’t like how Owen was slowly losing his character the more he stayed with Declan. Their relationship just feels so unbalanced and Owen is just fine with Declan ordering him around whenever he wanted. Owen used to be a very strong character but the more he is with Declan, the more dependant he gets and in a bad way.
- There is nothing exciting seeing them together. Their interactions are most of the time really boring and feel off. Owen calling Declan Daddy from time to time isn’t hot at all, just feels inappropriate when done outside of the bedroom. Daddy just feels like a name called in those context and doesn’t bring up any sense of excitement in me.
- There are so many scenes that mentions sex. Outside that, nothing seems to happen; no character development that would make the leads more likeable as characters. Declan seemed to mainly think of how good Owen looked and Owen seemed to return the favour. Their relationship just seems to be physical most of the time. Their NC scenes lack an emotional aspect to it, making these scenes rather boring and skippable.
- I was a little disappointed with the scene where the kids finally meets Declan. They were a little too calm and didn’t even mention Declan’s age, which was very unrealistic.
- The characters seem more and more one dimensional and I still couldn’t enjoy their dynamic in this book.

Conclusion: All in all, this is a sequel very much in the vein of the first book. For those who enjoyed that one, they will enjoy this one. The opposite is true as well. ...more "

" Book 3+4

What I liked about it:
+ I like how determined Sam is in this because he left Jory at the end of the last book so Jory’s extremely sensitive and hesitant. If Sam wasn’t insistent then they would never get together.

What I liked about it:
+ I like how determined Sam is in this because he left Jory at the end of the last book so Jory’s extremely sensitive and hesitant. If Sam wasn’t insistent then they would never get together.
+ The NC scenes are pretty emotional as Jory is more affected emotionally by the intimacy than physically.
+ I really like how Jory doesn’t give in immediately but he obviously wants to give in. This internal struggle makes for an interesting story.
+ I like how Jory’s life doesn’t revolve around love. He has other things to do so he isn’t unable to function without Sam there.
+ I really like Sam’s family and how supportive they are of their relationship. It’s always so nice to see everyone like Jory so much. I like how his family would push him to go find Jory.
+ I like how they didn’t wait too long to get back together. And how happy Jory is, is very nice to see.
+ The pacing and writing are still very good.
+ I like how obsessed they are with each other, how they desire each other every time.
+ I like how much Sam has changed. He knows what he wants and no longer hesitates. He’s no longer hiding his feelings and that is very nice to see. He’s also no longer hiding his and Jory’s relationship and has told everyone about it.
+ I love how the romantic stuff they say to each other, notably the part where Sam says he doesn’t care about the HEA, all he wants is the ever after as long as Jory sticks around.

What I didn’t like about it:
- I didn’t like how not sorry Sam is that he left Jory for 3 years. He tries to force him and seduce him. I wished we could see Sam pursue Jory. Sam seems certain Jory will agree to be with him. He is smug and doesn’t seem to take Jory’s opinions seriously. I know this is Sam’s personality and he really loves Jory and has been suffering without him, but he did hurt Jory and hasn’t really made up for it.
- I didn’t like how Sam would manhandle Jory even if he knew Jory likes the manhandling. I wish Sam would wine and dine him to show how much he cared.
- I didn’t like how selfish Sam was at the beginning, not even thinking about what was going on with Jory and just rushing him in to things. At least he realized the issue and apologized for it.
- Jory is as uncaring about his own safety as ever. He has no sense of self-preservation and it is as annoying as it was in the last few books.
- I was a little disappointed that the marriage proposal was so simple and not planned out.
- The mystery plot wasn’t very interesting to me so after the romance stuff was put on hold to resolve the mystery, it got a little boring.

Conclusion: Continuation from the previous books. A good ready for those who enjoyed the previous books. ...more "
