On the yearbook her name and picture is always under the most beautiful girl. After the accident happened everyone take notice of that. Jay is one of the kid that goes to the same school of Nicole Castro want to find out who is the one that splash acid on Nicole’s face. After the accident had happened she spent a while at the hospital. While the doctor there is trying to comfort her saying that she’s still very beautiful. Jay thinks that other people may be jealous of her beauty. He is trying to find out the mystery of this. After she had got back from the hospital she go back to school again. She is trying to cover her left side of her face with her hair. Jay is a loner at Nicole school, but he is very intelligent. He can solve many difficult problems. He trying to keep a distance at school while open outside of school. As he knows more and more about who is the one that did it, he gets more dangerous. After all they become friends, but they don’t talk much. Jay think that the recluse was a women,jealous of Nicole,her perfection.How many women would be capable of that kind of envy?” The answer to that was a question: How many women had seen Nicole’s face?” While Jay is investigating the secret behind the scene, he had develop relationship with Nicole Castro. I think this is typically a love story. When she get splash with acid, and jay is trying to find who is the one doing it. That’s how she knows him and develop relationship. Jay make everyone think that he is stupid by using a flip phone and ask the cute girls. No one knows that his flip phone is smarter than any other phone. This book mostly take place at school. It basically takes place at school because that’s where the accident happened and it is also where they found out who is the one that splash acid over Nicole left face. In the article it says that she get splash by the acid on the way to her class. That means she is in the hallway. I believe that every school has camera in the hallway, why can’t they look at the camera to find out who is the one that splash acid on Nicole’s face. I would recommend this book to my friend. Because it is part mystery, and part romance. Because of the mystery that they are trying to solve it kept me flipping the page. I think this story is more like a love story. If the accident didn’t happened, they wouldn't know each other. My favorite character in this book is Jay. I like him the most because he is the one that take the most action. When everyone knows about what had happened to Nicole, he is the only that take action. Everyone just heard about it and doesn’t care, but he does more than that. My favorite part of the book is in the middle of the book. That’s when Jay is trying to find out who is the one that did it. My least favorite part of the book is in the beginning. My least favorite part of the book is the beginning because it kind of get a little boring in the beginning. I also really like the ending of the story because Jay and Nicole develop relationship together. I think the theme of this book is about how you view your physical self. Nicole is known for her beauty, but after she get splash by the acid and leave scarve on her face, she find it's hard to think of yourself as beautiful. Nicole struggle with the idea of her boyfriend Dave. Dave still thinks that she is still beautiful and as a result they ended their relationship. She doesn’t like what she see in the mirror and she had a hard time looking or touching at the burn. Word such as beautiful can empower. Sometime the way you look at yourself can affect your confidence and identity. If you always depend on how you look, you will always be disappointed because no one is perfect ...more "
