"The setting of the IceBound land is very consistent throughout the book since Will is captive. It takes place in the "Icebound Land" where the Skandians live. This also takes place in the 1200-1400s as they still use bows and arrows and they still have castles and kings. The only time the setting changes in this book is when Erak helps Evanlyn escape with Will where they travel through the mountains to get back home." — Apr 25, 2016 10:07AM

"Will is the protagonist in this story. In the beginning of the story he was a shady character but he soon develops into a confident young man. He is an orphan but he is shutout by all the other orphans in the orphanage. When all the orphans get picked to be apprentices he gets picked last. He doesn't even find out who he gets picked by until he sneaks into the maters room. This shows that he is very athletic." — Feb 23, 2016 10:04AM
