And it's held up the 5/5 star rating for me and if I could give it a higher rating I wouldn't hesitate to do so. I don't really know how to write book reviews, I've never really done it before and this was a terrible book to start with because I cannot formulate good enough words to explain how this book settles into my heart.

I am inexplicably, unconditionally, and irrevocably in love with Dante Quintana. This is gonna be so dramatic, but I'm an aries so excuse it. But rereading this book made me fall in love with Dante in a way I cannot explain. And I blame Ari for this. This book, written from Ari's perspective, is a literal love letter to Dante Quintana. Seeing the way Dante lived in Ari was so heart warming and gut wrenching. The entire time I read this book there was this heavy feeling that I felt in my heart, and I think it was because I was truly coming to terms with just how in love I am with Dante. Dante is definitely my favorite written character of all time. This boy is just filled with so much good, and I love how sure he is with himself. The way he's so confident within himself and the person he is is why I think I love him so much, he's everything I want to be.

I never really understood how much I loved Ari, and I think I do now. Dante is the exact opposite of me, and the direct opposite, of Ari, a foil in a sense. I resonate so deeply in many aspects of Ari. His sometimes inexplicable anger, his insecurity etc. etc. I really love Ari's character and the person he is. His journey throughout the story, in which he comes to understand his identity was something that was so touching to me. I don't know.

I also want to mention just how much I love a strong and loving familial bond and this book did nothing to quell that fire in me. The boys' parents are some of the best written parents I think I've ever read. The way in which each parent was dynamic in their own rightful ways and they weren't there as a sort of backdrop. I really cannot explain, just know I love these parents so much.

And yeah, I don't think I've said everything I wanted to say but I can't find the words to put my feelings out. So here is my mess of thoughts about a book that I hold near and dear to my heart. I guess it's my own little love letter to Aristotle and Dante. ...more "
