James Georger
Hmm....Was mistaken on the specific book I was reviewing, then realized my comments would apply to all three of the Jon Stanton books read so far. Precious Plots. Compared to other police procedure plots, where the crime, clues, interviews, stand alone and support the story, leading to a resolution, these plots seem to have an injection of Hollywood, as if moviegoers were the target audience. Police brass go beyond non-support, toward corruption, or even being perps. Jon struggles against solving the crime and and being undermined by his organization. His body seems to absorb beatings and shootings with remarkable recuperative capabilities. Put another way, as characters are introduced, don't trust anyone. Anyone!
