Personality, in any social context, is largely a function of communication skills. Knowledge, wit, humor, eloquence, and style are all for naught until a learner can activate them in the target language.
this is extremely important. I have noticed that when switching languages my personality changes because if I feel that I am not able to express what I feel I then feel repressed and frustrated, which then influences and changes my mood.
