D Despite this being the Sterling Shore series this is the first of the books that is centred around one of the Sterling men. Yes men, because there is not a single thing about any of them that screams "boy".

Dane, the unofficial leader of the group, has been in love with his best friend Rain since they were kids. When she moved away to New York however their friendship appeared to crumble, with them not keeping in touch and not able to talk about each other.

"Rain and I were side by side all night. I held her hand, walked along the edge where the waves would kiss our feet, and it was perfect."

Six years later Rain makes a decision to move back to Sterling Shore. For her career... or so she tells herself. Once back she easily finds her footing with the other four Sterling's but struggles to see how her and Dane can ever recapture the friendship they once had.
Throw into the mix her half sister. Enemies for years, Tria looks to be trying to change that stance but Rain isn't sure if she can trust this sudden change in behaviour. An operation in which the aftercare goes awry throws Rain and Dane together, forcing them to find a way to move forward -be that as friends or as more.
When a party finally forces them to face the passion they have been hiding from all seems to be perfect and back on track for the two.
However one simple news article has is all crumbling down again. Running once more from the place she calls home Rain leaves behind the one person who is most likely to understand. Not willing to let six years pass this time however Dane does the only thing he can - gives chase.

"I love you, so quit fighting me."

This whole story of love brought tears to my eyes but hope to my heart. Hope that we are all due a love story like theirs. Hope that we will all find that one person who would do anything in the world for you.
A very enjoyable read, it keeps you interested from the start right to the end and leaves you wanting more. A great addition to the Sterling Shore family. ...more "
