" 4.5⭐️ honestly I had so much fun with this. A lot of stuff about it was your typical fantasy series stuff, like fated mates, human/fae, tattoo ruins, etc. But I’m not complaining at all. Another thing I loved… (surprisingly) CARRION. That bitch was so funny and I loved him the second he stepped foot in the Fae realm. Like are you kidding me he had me cracking up, and every time he walked into a room, I was giggling. Obviously he’s not my main man, because my main man is FISHERRRR. So many things here. This was just fun. It had a perfect mix of things I’ve read before and things I’ve never read before. The whole alchemy bit was interesting with all the metals and her being able to communicate with the quicksilver. I found that very cool. And her being able to just ask it for what she wanted. And finding that out from Carrion no less, after all her time working with the metal. I was starting to love Fishers people. I think that Lorreth is definitely going to die at some point. With the whole, part of Fishers soul thing, I think he’s going to die at some point, and Fisher will get the piece of his soul back. One thing I didn’t expect: vampires. I didn’t know there were going to be vampires in this book. Which was honestly a pleasant surprise. And witches appeared too, and I don’t think we’re done seeing them anytime soon. I also loved the idea of the runes and Saeris and Fisher being able to talk to each other in their minds. This is nothing new to me, but I liked the way it was done. The runes were fun with the whole idea of the mating bond being in “the past” and people now got tattoos with their person and the runes didn’t just appear. So of course when Saeris found this out she was like what the heck why do these appear when me and Fisher sleep together. Such a cool concept of the runes themselves. Each one being symbolic of something. There’s still so much that can happen and I’m so excited to see how this unfolds. And of man… the spicy scenes were spicing HAHAHAHA. This only took me so long to read because I kept not wanting to pick it up because I couldn’t give it my full focus. There was a whole month where I didn’t pick it up at all. But I’m glad I finally picked it up again, because it was so good and hard to put down once I really started again.

Things to remember for the next book: Saeris killed Malcolm, so she is now the “queen” of the vampires. Saeris and Fisher are fates mates, they’ve been destined for one another, even the gods couldn’t drive them apart. In every scenario run by the god of Chaos, Fisher and Saeris always found their way to each other. Saeris was supposed to be born Fae, but the God changed her path and had her born human to try and keep her from Fisher. Carrion is actually Fae, and is some Lord of Dianthus or something. (he’s also hilarious, and one of my favorite people). We still don’t know how Hayden is doing back home. The King, Belikon, the Queen, Madra, and Malcolm were siblings somehow. Loreth’s life is somehow tied to Fisher because Fisher gave him a piece of his soul. Saeris is half vampire, half Fae. ...more "
