"Really enjoying this book. Been a fan of Candice Millard's writing style since I received an advance copy of River of Doubt shortly before its publication many years ago.
I'm only about 1/3 way through, so I can't yet say that I prefer it over the excellent River of Doubt, but I'm already leaning towards liking it more than the quite good, young Winston Churchill biography, Hero of the Empire." — Mar 24, 2026 07:51AM
