The Loric look like humans but when they get older some of them develop legacies. Legacies are basicly superpowers like invisible, super fast running or advanced hearing. The storyline is about this century but their technology is far more advanced than ours so they can travel to our milky way and everywhere in the universe. John Smith is one of those aliens, he came to earth with nine others to flee for the Mogadorians, aliens from another planet in their milky way. He lived his whole life with Henri, his Cepân or guardian, and Bernie Kosar, a dog. John has advanced hearing and he can run super fast and he can use telekinesis. Although he is quite late with developing his telekinesis, he’s super powerful. Because they were with ten they all got a number, from one to ten. And John was number four. With the numbers came a charm, the Mogadorians could only kill them in the right order otherwise they would be killed. The moral of the book is that there’s always hope. Is The author does this by quotes of the characters, like Henri said “When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope”. And when they’re in a fight everyone’s lost hope except for John, who fights with the slightest piece of hope, and because of that they win the fight. The storyline of this book very good, but sometimes it’s a little bit too predictable because you already know what’s going to happen. But most of the book is quite exciting and surprising. I really did like the story, because I’m interested in science fiction and alien stories. I’ve also read The power of six the sequel of I am number four. It was kind of the same, but I liked I am number four better because the storyline was better and easier to follow....more
