“يحدث أحيانًا أن يقع الواحد من نفسه، يفقد فجأة كل ما يعرفه من أهداف أو أحلام، أو ربما يسير بداخل واحد منها بلا وعي، يسقط عن الواحد إحساسه بالزمن، ربما من فرط الرتابة أو فرط الإثارة، تسيطر ميكانيكية ما على طريقة حياته، فهو يتحرك بالفعل لكن جسده فقط هو الذي يتحرك، بينما لا توجد بقعة نور واحدة في الروح أو الوعي.
تهجم هذه اللحظة عليك دون أن تدري، لن تعرف أنك كنت تسير فاقد الوعي إلا مع لحظة النهاية، عندما يحدث ما يجعلك تستفيق، تعود إلى روحك فتعرف أنك كنت بعيدًا، هناك من يغادر لحظات اللاوعي هذه بصدمة، وهناك من يودعها على باب فرحة مفاجئة، هناك من يحتاج إلى جلسة كهرباء أو ما يشبهها، لكن في كل الأحوال عند عودتك ستسأل نفسك كثيرًا: أين كنت؟ وكيف انقضت تلك الفترة وأنت منوم؟ ستفكر كثيرًا، لكن لحظة الإفاقة ستمحو كل ما سبق، وستجعلك تمسك بطوق نجاة ألقته إليك سفينة لم تكن تبحث عنك.
