" Paper Towns proves the extent that people will do for their loved ones. Quentin Jacobsen, an outsider in high school, has always been madly in love with Margo Roth Spiegelman, a popular girl. Quentin Jacobsen, an outsider in high school, has always been madly in love with Margo Roth Spiegelman, a popular girl. The two have been next door neighbors, since the day Margo's and Q's families moved into Jefferson Park when they were two. By time they were nine, they frequently hung out and secretly had crushes on each other. It was a normal day at the park, yet Quentin had a sense that something was out of order. Shortly after, Margo spotted a dead man with dried blood around his deformed mouth. Quentin was terrified, but Margo was intrigued by the man and needed more information. She went to neighbor's houses pretending to need sugar, and would leave with not only sugar, but more information on the body. It ended up being a suicide. Margo had always loved mysteries, and maybe she loved them so much that she became one.

As they grew older, the farther and farther they grew apart, until one night. It is now their senior year and they haven't talked in years. At midnight, Margo was opening Quentin's window, wearing all black and black face paint. She needs to use his car and have him to go with and drive her around. Their first stop was Walmart to pick up an unique variety of items. After that, was Margo's best friend Becca's house, because she knew that Becca was hooking up with her boyfriend Jase. She called Becca's father to come downstairs, so that he would catch them. Jase ran out of the house, with some of his "package" out of his boxers and Q snapped a picture of it. Margo left a fish in Becca's room and a note reading:

"Your friendship with Margo, it sleeps with the fishes." and a finishing touch of her signature M.

The next stop was Karen's house because she told Margo about Jase and Becca, unlike Lacey. They left her some roses. Following that, was Jase's house, which they threw fish thew her window, breaking it. The two went to Lacey's next and put fish all over in her car and left her the same message as Becca's. Margo tells Q he has to choose an enemy to prank next. He picks Chuck, and they sneak into his bedroom, then cover all doors with Vaseline so he can't escape, and use Nair to rip one of his eyebrows off. Finally after all the pranking is done, Margo longs to go to the top of the Sun Trust building. She believes that Orlando is a paper town made of paper people. They leave and go home, saying farewells that they may not realize could be their last.

The next day at school, Q is so excited to see Margo and talk to her, but she wasn't there. As he got home, the police were waiting to investigate him on what happened last night and if it had anything to do with her disappearance. Margo is persistently on Quentin's mind, while he tries to figure out where she went. He knows for a fact that she always leaves clues for when she disappears, so he goes to her house one day while her parents are gone. He discovered a Walt Whitman book that has two lines highlighted reading:

"Unscrew the locks from the doors!
Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs!"

Quentin, an inelligent boy, did not take this literally and could not understand what this meant until his friend, Ben, told him. Surely enough, Margo Spiegelman left a note on top of his door with an address on it. The boys go there daily, and never understand what this clue was supposed to mean. Eventually they found a map that had a tack in a spot of New York, yet had no name. After hours of research, they realized it does not have a name because it is a paper town. Radar, another of Quentin's best friends, finds a message on Omictionary that says:

"fyi, Whoever edits this- the Population of algoe Will actually be One until may 29th at Noon."

Q knows that Margo capitalizes her sentences like this since she feels bad for the words that never get recognition, and is planning a trip to go find her immediately.

You can tell how important Margo is to Quentin and his friends because they skip their only high school graduation to find her. Even Lacey goes with after Margo left dead fish in her car.

Finding Margo was not hard for them at all, since she is the only person in the paper town of Algoe.
She was very frightened and surprised that they found her. Q and Margo had a long talk about why she chose to leave, and more. They ended up falling asleep in the grass together. Margo could not go back to Orlando because she feels like a paper girl that belongs in a paper town. Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman promise to never lose touch, no matter where life brings them.

I would recommend this book to anyone who needs reassurance in how important friends are. You may not see it, but they will always be there. ...more "
