The plot is not what I’d call original: girl hates boy, boy hates girl, only they don’t, and how did they end up hooking up again? But it’s okay, because the plot took a cliché and twisted it around, making it work for this novel. I kept getting surprises even when I thought I had it all discovered, and I really enjoyed the premise. After all, all stories were told by the Greeks, the point is to retell them with a catch.

The characters were also great. Lucy was an amazing main character, and even though she sometimes acted a little unhinged –Lucy, get it together–, I loved her and her freshness. And Josh? Apart from being a beast of a man (where can I get one of those? Asking for a friend), he was kind, and nice, and I just wanted to hug him and to protect him from the evil in the world. I’d probably need a ladder to do so, but it’s okay, we all have burdens.

Their romance was sweet, and funny, and a little frustrating. I liked how the author merges their personalities, how they clash, and how it all pours into their kisses and touches. Personally, I really like how the romance is handled (they’re both equals and they respect each other), even if it was a little fast for my liking. And a little crazy, too.

I also liked the narration. It’s a first person POV, told by Lucy, and while this kind of narration usually annoys me, here I really liked it. Sure, Lucy was a little mad and I would roll my eyes at her speculations, but it was a fast and easy read I thoroughly enjoyed.

To sum up, this was a fun, fast, and delightful novel I really liked. The characters were great and the romance very cute, and I honestly have no complains because I got exactly what I wanted with this book. It really delivered.

*The best part: JOSH TEMPLEMAN DESERVES A TEMPLE.
*The worst part: The romance got from zero to hero, sometimes Lucy acted like a madwoman, which threw me off a bit.
