Not sticking to the status quo, acting in ways other people find unfamiliar, failing to assimilate to the rest of the hive mind of society; in everyday life we often ostracize those who are different, those who display an unorthodoxy of behavior. Though taken to extremes in this book, I felt like actually there were no better words to describe the ways in which our society functions as it is.
