“Paul’s language is often quoted to support this theology, but Paul’s language assumes many things which for him were obvious facts, but which have long been forgotten. One of those facts was that Jesus Christ was the King of the Jews— not the Romans and not the Greeks nor any other gentile. When Paul refers to Greeks, he means Hellenist Jews. When he refers to Romans, he means Jews of Rome. And when he says gentile, he usually (but not always), means gentile Hebrew, i.e. a Hebrew living among the nations.
