This is an eloquent way of explaining why consumerists are never happy. They only want things for their aesthetics, and their grandiose facade. Things such as Gucci, Rolls Royces, yachts… true happiness comes a lot simpler than that; in spite of our universal longing for happiness, some people just need to consider that maybe it’s the opposite of their desires. In fact they despise the idea of simple life; they would much rather chase after the picturesque than be content with themselves as is. But it left me thinking: is this universal search for happiness a genuine feeling or is this aspiration just what we’ve been conditioned to feel empty without?
