"Most of the book is excellent. The story of Sylvia, the main character, dovetails into the story of the Children's Crusade. However, the Children's Crusade doesn't actually begin until p. 397 of 497. While it was a central theme, it seemed to be squeezed into the last 20% of the book and, in particular, the story ended abruptly one page after the end of the crusade.
