"I've been reading each story for it's appropriate season.
In spring, I read the Shawshank Redemption. I'd give it a 5/5. It was a master class in character writing, and I loved the hopeful message at the end.
For summer, I read Apt Pupil. The writing was 5/5, but the story was so disturbing I'd give it a 2.5/5. I love King's writing, but this story was too much for me. I'm so glad to be done with it." — Aug 01, 2026 10:33PM

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”
