" Animal Farm wrote by George Orwell, is about animals taking over a farm. It all starts when the leader of the animals, an old pig, dies. It all starts when the leader of the animals, an old pig, dies. This then creates a panic for all the animals, and the animals lose control of being obedient to the farmer. So the animals rebel, and the pigs take over the animals. However, the pigs are secretly treating the other animals like slaves. The pigs use different types of propaganda to trick the other animals. For example the pigs had made rules that made everyone equal, except for humans and any animals that stand on two legs. The rules were that animals had to stick together, but slowly the pigs would change the rules or add new ones. One rule was that animals should never sleep on a bed. However, the pigs lived in the farmers house and slept on the couches and beds. The animals did not say anything to them because they would get whipped. The animals were turning into slaves. Also, in the book, the animals needed power to plant their crops, and so they decided to build a windmill to generate wind power. The bad thing was that the animals struggled to build the windmill because they are animals. They had to become a team and help each other out with their weaknesses. The only reason the animals listen to the pigs because the pigs say that they are better leaders than the Farmer. The pigs said they were smarter and that to build the windmill they would need their brains. However, the pigs did help the animals grow closer as a team, and they soon figured out the pigs were no better than their old farmer they kicked out.

I liked Animal Farm, but only enough to give it 4 out of 5 stars. I liked how the book was related to a real life scenario. The author George Orwell did a very good job on using metaphors with the different types of animals to show what happened in the Russian Revolution. In the book my favorite character was Boxer. Boxer was a young and strong horse. He knew the leader of the animals was a tyrant, and he was going to rebel. Sadly, he is sold towards the middle of the book and the animals had a hard time building the windmills for energy because hey we're not as strong as him. Also, I did not like this book at the same time because I wasn't very interested in the pigs treating the animals like slaves. It was very interesting though to see how the pigs would use propagandas to trick the animals. The pigs were very smart but were tyrants. I did not like how the pigs would whip the other animals, that seemed too harsh. It's okay though, because I know it's still a book and it happened in real life. Overall, I liked Animal Farm. I liked how the animals were related to what happened in history and how well George Orwell used certain animals as metaphors for people in the Russian Revolution. ...more "
