love at first sight feeling for the two charters in this book. From the start of the book it will immediately catch your eye when someone in the book has left. This is about Park Sheridan, a unique teen that loves comics, music, and doesn’t have many friends like others. Then he sees this red hair, very unique style, and a bit chubby girl named Eleanor Douglas. She is new to this school and Park is already catching feelings for her. They both seat next to each on the bus for a couple of weeks and Eleanor notices his comic books. Ever since that they both clicked right away as if they knew each other for years. Although they clicked really fast, they both come from different sides.
Throughout this book, Eleanor and Park click on so fast. Even though they both have different sides of the story they still make time both of them. Park lives with his happy family and right house for them. On the other hand Eleanor lives in a small house sharing a room with her four younger siblings and hearing Richie abuse her mother every night. At school Eleanor is getting bullied and just wants to be invisible her whole entire life. One part is that when Park’s parents find out about Eleanor, they don’t like the looks of her but when they find out about her story his mom knows how it is because she went through that and let’s her come in her house anytime and accepts her being his girlfriend. There is also this part where when Eleanor’s step dad Richie finds out about Park and is really mad and kinda abuses her. Ever since then Eleanor can’t go back to her house because she knows it will be really bad so Park drives her up to her uncle's house in Omaha. When they finally got there they had to say goodbye forever. All though they didn’t last forever, Part knew what was best for Eleanor and that was to be safe from all drama and abusing and horrible life at her house.
A theme I would give this entire book would be love, suffering, and courage. I gave this book those three themes because Eleanor and Park had a really great bond between each other and it was basically love at first sight. They never gave up on each other even if one was going through a rough time, they both were there for eachother. They both were suffering in way because Eleanor was actually suffering but Park was suffering knowing that Eleanor had to go home and be at the same house with her abusive step dad. Courage because Park had courage in Eleanor and so did his mother and basically his whole family had courage for Eleanor and her mom and siblings.They knew how hard it was even if they lived in a really good viimraent, espeacailly Parks mother as I mentioned earlier. This book is a really good book to read. Every chapter was really sad at times because the way Eleanor ahd to live at her house and at her school. She had to deal with bullies and abuse and just a really sad life. Towards the end it left me wondering, don’t want to spoil why it left me wondering but it really did. Other than that I really like how it was written and how it was detailed in every way. ...more "
