Book cover for Quicksand
Turning from the window, her gaze wandered contemptuously over the dull attire of the women workers. Drab colors, mostly navy blue, black, brown, unrelieved, save for a scrap of white or tan about the hands and necks. Fragments of a speech ...more

Craig Ferguson
“Its hard to stay up. Its been a long long day
And you've got the sandman at your door.
But hang on, leave the TV on and lets do it anyway.
Its ok.
You can always sleep through work tomorrow. Ok?
Hey, Hey, Tomorrow's just your future yesterday.
Tell the clock on the wall, "Forget the wake up call."
Cause the night's not nearly through.
Wipe the sleep from your eyes. Give yourself a surprise.
Let your worries wait another day.
And if you stay too late at the bar,
At least you made it out this far.
So make up your mind and say, "Let's do it anyway!"
Its Ok
You can always sleep through work tomorrow, ok?
Hey, Hey, Tomorrow's just your future yesterday.
Life's too short to worry about
the things that you can live without
And I regret to say,
the morning light is hours away.
The world can be such a fright,
But it belongs to us tonight.
What's the point of going to bed?
You look so lovely when your eyes are red.
Tomorrow's just your future yesterday.”

Shel Silverstein
“If there is a book you want to read but isn`t written yet, write it.”

Madeleine L'Engle
“In your language you have a form of poetry called a sonnet...It is a very strict form of poetry, is it not?
...There are fourteen lines, I believe, all in iambic pentameter. That's a very strict rhythm or meter, yes?...And each line has to end with a rigid rhyme pattern. And if the poet does not do it exactly this way, it is not a sonnet, is it?'
'No.'
'But within this strict form the poet has complete freedom to say whatever he wants, doesn't he?'
'Yes." Calvin nodded again.
'So,' said Mrs. Whatsit.
'So what?'
'Oh, do not be stupid, boy!' Mrs. Whatsit scolded. 'You know perfectly well what I am driving at!'
'You mean you're comparing our lives to a sonnet? A strict form, but with freedom within it?'
'Yes,' Mrs. Whatsit said. "You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself.”
Madeleine L'Engle, A Wrinkle in Time

Craig Ferguson
“After all this time I found that the novel is in fact punk rock.”
Craig Ferguson, American on Purpose: The Improbable Adventures of an Unlikely Patriot

Madeleine L'Engle
“You’re given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself. What you say is completely up to you.”
