Jesse is always the guy in the club making jokes, being inappropriate, and just having a fun time. In Desertion, we learn that Jesse isn't all fun and games, and there is a lot more to him then what meets the eye. When Nurse Bell shows up at Liquid Jesse is drawn to her, but he doesn't realize that Bell has things going on as well which makes for some interesting conversation and a very fun book!

On paper, these two don't belong anywhere near one another. But they really do. Bell is trying to find her sister who went missing 6 years ago, she's sheltered, and as much as she wants to deny it, she's attracted to Jesse. Jesse was a firefighter, marine, and now in charge of Liquid and part of the Knights Rebels MC. He has a past he'd like to forget, and a father he despises. Both of them weren't expecting to feel as much for one another as they did and there are some interesting parts to their story.

Jesse can definitely be a jerk, especially when Bell gets too close. I loved getting to see inside his head as well as Bell's in this book. Getting to see how he saw things and why he was the way he was was tragic, yet amazing. He knows he's not good for Bell, but he can't stay away. I loved his ways of talking to her, showing up at work, and taking her out (which is something Jesse does NOT do).

Bell amazed me during this book. When we first met her she seemed quiet, naive, and sheltered, but as the story progressed we got to see her grow and not be so timid. The way she puts Jesse in her place multiple times in this book is awesome. She is a spitfire and I was happy to see her not let people walk over her anymore towards the end of this book.

Seeing the rest of the MC embrace Bell was awesome, and seeing the guys giving him as much crap as they did was hilarious. Kadence, Holly and Kelly take Bell in and make her a part of the family, even if Jesse is a jerk. They also seemed to embrace Bell's best friend Lissy, who is hilarious and also pushes Bell out of her comfort zone. Nix and Sy are amazing in this book, and it was awesome seeing more of them and their relationships.

I have a feeling with things that happened in this book that the Knights Rebels are in for some crazy times coming up in future books. Especially with everything that Jesse did to help Bell. This group of bikers and their girls have grown on me and I really enjoy this series and don't want it to end. I am looking forward to the next book and hope it comes out soon so we can see more of Nix, Sy, Jesse, and the girls and whomever Beau ends up with. ...more "
