"Rifka's mother is very patient. For example, she waited to talk to Rifka while Rifka completed her chores. The text states, "As soon as I settled the baby down, a fevered woman asked for water. Then there were other chores that needed doing ... I kept looking over to Mama, afraid she would disappear. She didn't disappear. She sat and watched" (pg. 116). This shows how much Rifka's mom cares about and missed her." — May 28, 2017 10:10AM

"The old man training Jonas said that it was his fault that the previous person selected for the Reciever failed. This makes me feel even more scared for Jonas because the man who trained the failed successor is now training Jonas. Basically, Jonas has a more likely chance of failing because his trainer had once failed someone before him. What will happen to Jonas if he fails too?" — May 22, 2017 06:38PM
