This book talks about how roller coasters operate. There are wooden and steel roller coasters. A roller coaster track is called a circuit. Depending on how long the circuit is that is how long the roller coaster will be. During the roller coaster there can be inversions. Inversions are like loops and corkscrews. Once the end of the roller coaster is reached there are breaks in the station. This book mentions roller coaster like "The Beast", this wooden roller coaster in located in Cincinnati, Ohio. " The Big One " is another roller coaster. This fast roller coaster is made of steel and can go 76 miles per hour. It is also 214 feet tall making it the tallest roller coaster in England. More roller coaster are " Volcano, The Blast Roller Coaster " which includes 4 inversions and is in Virginia. The last roller coaster is " Superman: The Escape " this roller coaster goes up to 100 miles per hour and is 415 ft tall! The authors purpose to writing this book was to inform readers about roller coasters and to give them examples of some of the best.

The title relates to the book because this book gives examples of " The World's Wildest Roller Coasters ". It gives 4 examples of them from 3 from the U.S. and 1 from Blackpool, England. I liked the way the author gave specific detail on where the roller coaster was and it's statistics.

I liked this book because i learned things about roller coasters I never knew. It also gave me examples of different types of roller coasters. What I liked is that in the book it told us about the circuit and the inversions. On the examples of roller coasters he gave specific detail from what year they opened and the maximum speed.

I rate this book a 3-5 because it informed me about roller coasters. I recommend this book to people that love roller coasters or people that like to go to amusement parks. This book is also recommended to everyone if you just want to know about roller coasters. If you read this book you'll know about different types of roller coasters. ...more "
