The first thing that got me hooked onto this book was actually the TV show. But sadly, they ended it before it came to a conclusion. I needed more! I needed to know why and how the dome came down. But this book isn’t like the TV show, it’s better. I’ve been enjoying reading this and each twist and turn can completely change the views about each character. I never have any idea about what’s in store or what tragic thing is going to happen next. From the start, you begin to attach yourself to a certain character and root for them. But there are a lot of characters that people would call the antagonists. What I really like about this book is that there is no main character, so you get to hear what is going on in everyone’s head. You get to see inside of someone’s head, and not everyone has the same opinion. Also in this book, many plot twists occur, Since there isn’t a main character, the reader easily finds out about the other people’s schemes. It can become very stressful when you know what’s going to happen! For example, the town’s second selectman, Jim Rennie, has an idea on how to get rid of Barbie’s -- or Dale Barbara -- power in the Mill. Since the President of the United States appointed him in charge based off of his experience as a colonel. This infuriates Big Jim, he wants to be the person calling the shots, not some out-of-towner who supposedly was a colonel. He even is a chef, he shouldn’t have power in Chester’s Mill! At least, that’s what the local town officials think.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys, science fiction or mystery. If you have read other Stephen King books, or like a good science fiction book that keeps you wanting more, then I would highly suggest this book. Even if you have never read a science fiction book and are in the market for a new book, you should give this one a try. Allot a good amount of time to read this book, it’s a long one. But it’s definitely for a more mature audience. Overall, it’s a thrilling science fiction novel with insane plot twists that leaves the reader wanting more. ...more "
